"The all-action warrior, with stunning knockout power..."
That's what HBO Boxing called James Kirkland in their preview for what could be one of the greatest boxing matches of the year.
Thanks to his strength and conditioning work with trainer Bay Bay McClinton, Kirkland was able to focus on his training as he prepares to take on Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on May 9, leaving his recovery to us! That's right, the "Mandingo Warrior" pulled in PR2 to help prepare for what some have called the most important fight of his career.
As a professional boxer he's familiar with aches and pains, swelling and bruising, but with PR2 Amino we made sure that Kirkland wouldn't be slowed down by recovery time, in the hopes that the only pain felt would be the pain he dishes out on the ninth.
Some are calling him an underdog, others are saying this is exactly the chance he's been looking for as he comes back strong from a hiatus from the ring, one that he spent totally focused on improving his training, getting in better shape and setting himself up to rise to a new level of his career.
Knowing McClinton, and knowing that Kirkland has been using PR2 Amino to refuel and recover after his workouts, we can't wait to see how he handles "Canelo" next week at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
More information can be found at Golden Boy Promotions, and the if you can't make it to Houston, the fight will air May 9 on HBO Championship Boxing.
